Short version: Crease collects only what it needs to work — your name, the cricket teams you follow, and your chat messages. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. You can delete your account and all your data at any time from inside the app.
1. Who we are
Crease is a live cricket tracking app built by Rohan Shah ("we", "us", or "our").
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
We collect the minimum information needed to run the app:
Account information — When you sign in with Apple or Google, the provider gives us your name and email address. With Sign in with Apple, the email may be an Apple-generated relay address. We store your display name in our database to show it to other users.
Profile photo — If you choose to add a profile picture, the image you select from your photo library is uploaded to our servers. You can remove it at any time.
Team preferences — The cricket teams you select during onboarding and in your profile settings.
Chat messages — Messages you send in match chat rooms are stored on our servers and visible to other users in that match room. We moderate chat to enforce our Community Guidelines.
Blocked user list — If you block another user, we store the list of blocked users in your profile so we can hide their messages.
Live Activity push token — If you activate Live Activities for a match, we store a device identifier and push token to deliver score updates to your lock screen and Dynamic Island. This identifier is not linked to your account identity.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any information about other apps on your device.
3. How we use your information
To display your name and profile photo to other users in chat.
To show you matches from your favourite teams on the home screen.
To send live score updates to your device via Live Activities and push notifications (only when you opt in).
To enforce our Community Guidelines — we may review flagged messages to decide whether to remove them.
To respond to support requests.
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with data brokers.
4. Who we share your information with
We use the following third-party services to run the app. Each acts only on our instructions and under data processing agreements:
Supabase — Our database and authentication provider. All user data (profile, chat messages, team preferences) is stored in Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase is hosted on AWS.

Apple — Sign in with Apple, push notifications (APNs), and Live Activities are all delivered through Apple's infrastructure.

Google — If you choose Sign in with Google, Google verifies your identity and shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us.

Sportsmonks — We use the Sportsmonks API to obtain cricket match data (scores, players, fixtures). We do not share your personal data with Sportsmonks.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties.
5. Chat and user-generated content
Messages you post in Crease chat rooms are visible to all users viewing that match. Do not post personal information you do not want others to see.
We moderate chat to enforce our Community Guidelines. Flagged or reported messages may be reviewed by our team. We reserve the right to remove content that violates our guidelines and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate them.
By submitting a message, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, moderate, and remove that content as described in our Terms of Service.
6. Data retention
Account data — retained until you delete your account.
Chat messages — retained as long as your account is active. Messages may remain visible for a short period after account deletion while our systems process the removal.
Push tokens — retained until the Live Activity expires or you delete your account.
Profile photo — retained until you remove it or delete your account.
7. Your rights and account deletion
You can do the following at any time from inside the app:
Edit your display name and profile photo — Profile tab → Edit profile.
Change your favourite teams — Profile tab → Edit teams.
Block other users — tap their name in chat → Block.
Delete your account — Profile tab → Settings → Delete Account.
This permanently removes your Crease account, display name, profile photo, team preferences, blocked user list, and authentication credentials from our servers. Chat messages sent before deletion may persist briefly before purging.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or port your personal data under laws such as the GDPR (EEA/UK) or CCPA (California). To exercise these rights, contact us at support@joincrease.com.
8. Children
Crease is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit and access controls on our Supabase project. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via email. Continued use of Crease after changes means you accept the updated policy.
